I found the constant change of narrator distracting and it caused me to feel more distant from the story. That said, I rarely give up on a book part way but as I did not find this at all entertaining and I’d hoped it might have been humorous, I stopped listening when there are so many other wonderful books to listen to. He might be a lovely person and the book might have suddenly improved but after two hours and not a single smile let alone chuckle, I was unwilling to continue wasting my time.

Blah! Very disappointing.

What would have made Yes Please better?

Had the story been interesting or funnier it might have made it worth listening to.

I have always liked her acting and so expected to be much amused by this but was not.

What could Amy Poehler have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Been vastly different.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

She has a good delivery.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Total disappointment

Where does Peggy and Me rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Definitely one of my favourites.

Miranda Hart is brutally honest about what she sees as her flaws. She is easy to relate to, truly, truly funny and clever and the scenes she describes are charming.
I cannot recommend this book more highly and would share it with all my friends except that I have already shared self help books.

What other book might you compare Peggy and Me to, and why?

Irma Bombeck's books have some similar self deprecating humour and brilliant wit.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I related to her honest description of how she feels about relationships with both humans and her dear dog.

Any additional comments?

Simply charming and all round feel good, delightful book. LOVED it!

Can't recommend more highly for +ve change in life

If you could sum up How The Secret Changed My Life in three words, what would they be?

Empowering
Accessible
Clear

What did you like best about this story?

The explanation that anyone can and make positive and dramatic change in their life and how to do so.

What three words best describe Rhonda Byrne’s performance?

Bit humdrum and would have preferred the voices and accents to reflect the origins of the people who had sent testimonials.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It gave me hope.

As expected, funny, witty & interesting. Loved it!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Whilst Sarah is funny on TV and does say some amusing things in this book, there is a constant fake laugh track and the scenes are staged as if they are spontaneous interactions when it becomes VERY clear they are all prewritten.

Had to stop listening as it was so very, VERY annoying.

MOST disappointing and I found she must think all listeners are idiots.

Would you ever listen to anything by Sarah Millican again?

Not unless it was a straight book and not a pretend performance.

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

She did say some whimsical, comedic things but the enjoyability of these was eclipsed but the fake performances and annoying and repetitive laugh track.
