great fantasy story, unusual take on the genre with well fleshed out characters and smart plotting. really funny in places, good action and plot twists and foreshadowing.

pretty good but his writing about love interests is painful. the hero comes across like a lovesick teenager, which would be fine except it doesn't align with his other traits.

easy to follow, interesting take on human history. the pro capitalist political slant and opining would not have been missed.
