Did l read that this was the author's first book? If so, its a cracker for a first one. I liked the narrator the story was good too.

The only reason l 4 starred instead of 5 starred is l felt a little cheated - the author gives us a peripheral character and you sense/ feel the possibilities around them, but for me they slip by - missed opportunity to anchor them. However great 4 star and worth listening to.

l am a horror fan and have read both Koontz and King many decades. It interesting how both writer have changed over time.

His writing is wonderful, always has been. Whoever he is using as narrator is perfect. I like that he stays relevant by blanketing stories, at times, with technology. His writing these days connects with the thinking sceptic of what people in power can, and try? to do.

I feel he wants us to read and think. This book was nice if you wanted something a little 'uplifting' then this would be that, but just know this author has such a huge portfolio l recommend you try another of his works also - perhaps something earlier just to see the span of this authors talent. Enjoy

Great narration, which makes all the difference. The story is set abroad and thanks to the narration you can 'feel' the location. Pace is reasonable and the story is not far fetched at all - lm glad l listened to this one.

Worth giving it a go.

I had no idea it was a true story, had little to read and tried this. Had no idea the book was already famous. Firstly, l liked the writers style, l think her way with words is very interesting, engaging.

The topic was different and therefor also interesting. The reader is introduced to the main 'player' of the book early on, Sandra Pankhurst who you discover was born male and brought up in a tough environment. The way the author 'shares' her with us is excellent, brings her to life and so you end up with more than you one story.

Yep its worth giving it a go.

Simple story really. A man, a women and accusation's.

Very well narrated which l feel has made all the difference to the delivery of the story.. and bonus at the end of the book you hear from both the narrator and author.

The book looks at events from a few angles - isn't overdone - steady, well written.

Mostly l have no interest in self help or motivational books, gave this one a go expecting to last only a page or two. I was wrong... this is very entertaining.

Mel interviews people who have roadblocks in life and she seems to have the ability to show them what is in front of them in a different way. My analogy is we all know what a coffee cup looks like, if that cup is empty and you lay it on its side, its still a coffee cup - just viewed differently.

The book is worth all he stars it has received.

If you are a fan of the series (which l totally recommend) then this book bounce's back in time to show the beginnings of the team Kim Stone works with throughout the other books.

Some authors fail when they try to go back in time and give a current timeline roots, but this author has managed this well with First Blood. This book can also be read without you having read the others.

The story is very good but why l gave this a 5 stars across the board was that this book gives just that touch more depth to the main characters which l enjoyed reading/experiencing.

No idea about author - haven't bothered to google yet, however l selected this book due to the high star rating. All l can say is it deserved it (the star rating).

Do wonder …. some of the language is baby boomer and prior …..yet also Gen x ….and later - so the writer is how old? No idea, should be part of a exam question me thinks.

The narration was lovely - the Irish done nicely - the Aussie done beautifully

Anyhow enough - just go purchase - its as refreshing as new cocktail when sunbathing at a 5 star :)
