She's back

I really like this authors work, have read her stuff throughout the years. Recently felt disappointed... almost like perhaps success was making her lazy. But this book is awesome and lve still a chapter or so to go. It feels like the old stuff (which rightly brought her fame) but its not, its new. So happy that she is back to mixing great story, awesome characters with that touch strange detail inserted in the oddest of areas that binds it all together. I would have given 5 's across the board but the narrator is just fine 85% of the time its that other 25% - yikes. Also the word scrunshie? It Is used must be more than 25 times and l dont know what that is. I can guess but l refuse to google. Anyhow l would not read this one on its own, if you have never read her stuff start at the start because she is worth it.

This book l downloaded as a 'spare' one to read when in-between favorite authors. I had no idea it was going to be so good. I can only guess at the time it must have taken this author to write this, and he must be a super geek, lol. Very clever book written so well, with depth of character, humor and great imagination. Not surprised it was made into a film - l gave this all the stars.

Could not tell the difference
Reviewed: 07-11-2020
Could not tell the difference between Lee and Andrew - except for perhaps one paragraph but other than that l would have thought it was a Lee Childs - so welcome new person. Story was ok - rated a bit lighter than normal because of story which was just ok. The American thing the author/s does was slightly overdone - to explain in the UK certain situation's don't need to be verbalized step by step, by step, but Lee Childs, l suspect, has done this for numerous years for his American market. In this book that was slightly overdone. Americans are not stupid - not that l know any but lm sure they are not stupid - they don't always need a feeding spoon.

Nice pace exciting, good story
Reviewed: 12-09-2020
Ive stuck with this series simply because they are easy listening and decent stories...reason for this review is l felt the story was shorter than the rest, but more fast paced and exciting. So l just felt completed to say its a really good read. Like other authors with books in a series the character's have evolved as each new book comes out but unlike other authors you don't necessarily need to have read all the books in order, this book for example could definitely just be read on its own.

Did l read that this was the author's first book? If so, its a cracker for a first one. I liked the narrator the story was good too. The only reason l 4 starred instead of 5 starred is l felt a little cheated - the author gives us a peripheral character and you sense/ feel the possibilities around them, but for me they slip by - missed opportunity to anchor them. However great 4 star and worth listening to.

Another great book from Angela Marsons - When l used to read her books l couldn't turn the page fast enough and now that l listen to them, l cant listen long enough - you just want more. Good story good pace (as always). Nice tone, nice flow. This one touches on cults ... updates the reader on how they work now these days compared to the traditional types of the 80's. I have wondered about the authors source of knowledge as she often goes deeper than just a good google dive. I wonder if she taps on the shoulders of Police, Priests , Politicians, Psychiatrist and Psychologist’s - who knows, but nicely informative.
