Just seems a little rushed & incomplete at the end

what starts out well, with a good premise and builds steadily seems to end in rushed, unsatisfying conclusion that just leaves you thinking "Did the Author run out of time?" Perhaps there are plans for a Part 2, but I'm unlikely to purchase as this ending was not a cliffhanger........

It's pronounced Cores-man NOT Corpse-man

The story is great, however, only 2 things let it down and yes they are minor but for me, annoying. Scott's pronunciation of Corpsman (military medic) as Corpse-man (a zombie?) stood out like a sore thumb & his Australian accent was abysmal (as is 99.9% of anyone who's not Australians is). Did it ruin the novel? Absolutely not, was it cringeworthy Yup.

Great read now Audible release Books 2 & 3

This is a very nice mix of Sci-Fi and fable/fantasy, good bit of action & suspense, now all that's needed is for Audible to release Books 2 & 3.

As usual, Richard Fox has turned out a fantastic novel in the Ember War universe and I enjoyed nearly every part of it but for one. Richard, if your ever going to use Australians again PLEASE don't use Barry McKenzie as a reference point for how we Australians speak, 99.9% of the dialogue used was pre-1970 if not earlier, it was so bad that I fast forwarded through it.

I'm not even going to mention Luke Daniels attempt at an Australian accent other than to say my ears are still bleeding.

The above two points aside, GREAT read, enjoyed it very much.

Once again, Mark E Cooper delivers with Book 4 of The Merrkiari Wars. Very enjoyable reading whilst I'm stuck in ICU in hospital.

A little slow to get rolling, but when it does it is a damn good read. A great bit of space opera, can't wait for book 2!
