This looks like another wonderful series by Alexander McCall Smith. Some great characters of course and another setting with all the intriguing language we’ve come to expect from this author. I can’t wait for the next one. Great narration that was at the right pace and enough variation in voices to make all the characters appear to be in the room with you.

What a lovely love story! A thoroughly nice girl who is a wonderful friend ignores the love of her life out of loyalty but love prevails after some roadbumps on the way. Loveable and believable haracters set in circumstances we can easily relate to. Very pleasing narration is a definite bonus too.

A very enlightening book that explains Paul’s impact on the early church and how relevant his guidance is today. One I will definitely be listening to again.

What a wonderful life you’ve led Sir Tony Robinson! It was really interesting to hear how you embarked on your acting career and kept at it even with the many setbacks you encountered. I had no idea you were so involved politically and a little ironic that I finished the book this morning on my way to work and then heard that you had resigned from the Labour Party 3 days ago after 45 years!!! Your close encounters with Altzheimers was particularly moving and I will definitely be looking for the film about your mother’s experiences. I highly recommend this book as an informative, entertaining and brilliantly performed life story.

Very unusual narrative but believable characters. A coming of age story with insights into what defines a family and love. I was a little disappointed in the ending as I felt the story was cut short and would hope there’s a follow up novel to satisfy my curiosityy. Highly recommended for an indulgent weekend read and brilliant as an audiobook for a long journey.

A very unusual book with characters that are flawed, totally endearing and believable. Unlike anything I’ve read before so it’s difficult to categorize! A loveable character for the lead who has a trusting, accepting view of the world and what it comprises, he is fiercly loyal to his friends and dysfunctional family and somehow manages to overcome seemingly insurmountable problems to a satisfying conclusion. I highly recommend this book and am about to hear it again to pick up on some of the twists and turns I missed!

What a brilliant book! It has so much insight into politicians.....it should definitely be a mandatory book for everyone who enters politics. It was thoroughly enjoyed by our 8 and 10 year old Canberrans and their grandfather insisted on listening to the end after they’d gone to sleep. I took great delight in stopping at cliffhangar end of chapters so they then requested to go to bed early so they could listen to more!!! Now what will we download next?

What a beautiful love story. Young love sweetly narrated but then life in the 70s takes its toll. This must be a realistic experience for many women of that era. A timely reminder why the stigma attched to mental health must be eradicated.

An enthralling cold case that is a bit close to home for Tracy. As it brings back memories of her sister’s case will it be too much for her? An interesting and engaging story with a lot of side stories the teader is slowly brought to an exciting conclusion. As to Tracy’s romance with Dan....we definitely need to know more.

I’m not quite sure what I was expecting from this book but I thoroughly enjoyed it! It’s a family story. A family which on the surface have an ideal life but under the veneer of respectability a dark secret is hidden. This secret affects the two sons in very different ways. When boredom and dissatisfaction meet the secret head-on something has to give. I loved the ending which is deeply satisfying but won’t spoil it for you. Definitely one of my favourite books so far!
