OMG what a boring boring story, if you want a romance maybe okay but if you want a crime story don't pick Tallowwood. I tried to finish it but gave up after 12 very long chapters that had little crime. I never want to hear "those damn freckles" or "THE Detective Shaw" ever again. Endless going over and over the same stuff, give it a miss. The narrator is very english and his Australia accents sounded very Kiwi.

This was the second book of Jock Serong I listened too, the first "rules of backyard cricket". Jock doesn't sugar coat especially when it comes to politicians he describes them perfectly which is not pretty. As with backyard cricket the book can be a little slow in the beginning but keep listening Jock is a wonderful story tellers and he is not in the less predictable. Maybe an eye opener for readers who believe in politicians. I love Lewis Fitz-Gerald narration he doesn't attempt female voices which so many male narrator try and fail. A long listen but worth it.

This book had such good reviews and I loved the TV series, however the book was a big disappointment. What made it worst was the narrator, why do male narrators attempt women's voices; making them sound like frail stupid people. Really struggled to finish it, boring.

I'm hoping a new book in the series will be released soon, have loved listening to all the Cormoran Strike books but I believe this is the best so far. The narrator Robert Glenister is really good, what I particularly like is he doesn't put on a stupid, winding voice when reading the female parts. The character and plot are well defined and I love that the book is over 22 hours perfect for long car journeys or walks. J K Rowlings writing under the name of Robert Galbraith is an extremely talented lady. Highly recommend the series.
