Story
Portia de Rossi weighed only 82 pounds when she collapsed on the set of the Hollywood film in which she was playing her first leading role. This should have been the culmination of all her years of hard work - first as a child model in Australia, then as a cast member of one of the hottest shows on American television. On the outside she was thin and blond, glamorous and successful. On the inside, she was literally dying.

Great to actually hear from Portia, to hear her anxieties and rationales.
Fir anyone who has battled the same issues there will be many learnings.

Story
Heartbreaking, joyous, traumatic, intimate and revelatory, Reckoning is the book where Magda Szubanski, one of Australia’s most beloved performers, tells her story. In this extraordinary memoir, Magda describes her journey of self-discovery from a suburban childhood, haunted by the demons of her father’s espionage activities in wartime Poland and by her secret awareness of her sexuality, to the complex dramas of adulthood and her need to find out the truth about herself and her family.

I would absolutely recommend this audible book to anyone with even a skerrick of interest in understanding how we end up who we are, who we are inextricably linked to and shaped by.
Having Magda audibly take you on this journey was a rare pleasure. I felt like I'd lost a friend after the last word.
She is a gem. Her book is a triumph.
