This series is just what I wanted right now. Somewhere between the Imperial Radch and Murderbot books.

Not your average audio drama. I think maybe it was a longer story that was cut down at some point, it feels like there are parts missing to a degree. The performances were fantastic, and the format was different. I appreciate the chances taken here, and thoroughly enjoyed the story. The ending was perhaps a bit flat, or rushed maybe. However, I would still recommend taking a chance and giving it a try.

I went in nor knowing what to expect, but happy to try a free book. I would definitely recommend it for a quick little trip into the world of competitive chilli eating.

Reminiscent of Stanislaw Lem, Claire North and Agatha Christie. The mystery alone is a great story, but the sci-fi slant keeps the "high society murder where everyone is corrupt" story fresh and interesting. The writing quality does vary a little, but that really means that there are a few standout passages. Also, the dialogue is well written, which can be tricky. I felt that the narrator was well matched to the story. He had a decent range of voices and his pacing was suited to the feel of the book. I will definitely look for more from both the author and narrator.
