I enjoyed the book overall, but the writing itself is shockingly bad. Conflicted because I like the idea and the world, but it’s like a novice web novel that’s written as fast as possible and not caring about making a structured story, and yet the sex scene's have more detail that ANYTHING else in the story. Book could easily be twice as long if it was re written properly .

In the first 2-3 minutes the MC casually asked his date if they were going to go have sex after dinner, didn’t care that he couldn’t remember her name - who is an A typical stupid ‘babe’ - disturbed a whole restaurant 3 times by ignoring his phone/watch after being asked to be quite the first time.

Then of course the authors added some big bad men for him to thrash when they tried to kick him out of the restaurant - that was owned by the main guy in said beating receiving group - although the authors made sure to make them more degrading towards the woman that he had been 👍 so that is his justification I’m guessing?

Don’t think I’ll keep listening - the MC is already to my mind established as a arrogant - sarcastic - casual macho man, who can’t even be bothered to remember a woman’s name he took on a date to a $$ fine dining restaurant.

Liked the narrator though 😁. If you like that kind of MC you’ll probably love it......

Will change this review in future if I can listen to more, but it’s just got the lazy devil may care tough guy MC that people seem to think having charisma is the same are being a sociopath

Gabriel Delling might call himself a professional con artist, but when walking superstitions start trying to bite his face off, his charm is shockingly unhelpful. It turns out living nightmares almost never appreciate a good joke. Together with a succubus who insists on constantly saving his life, Gabe desperately tries to survive a new reality that suddenly features demons, legends, and a giant locust named Dale - all of whom pretty much hate his guts. And when an ancient horror comes hunting for a spirit locked in his head, Gabe finds himself faced with the excruciating choice between death...or becoming some kind of freaking hero.

A good amount of erotica mixed in with a story about a genuinely decent seeming guy - the first I’ve come across in a harem style book - as you follow along in his life.

Nice change of pace from the ‘save everyone your super special and powerful’. He is just good looking and nice guy who is as lucky as only a male MC in a fantasy book can be - in relation to his love life at least.

Looking forward to the next book!

BE AWARE — the sex scenes, of which there are a few are long and very descriptive and don’t use substitute words as some books do.

Narrator was very good at vocal inflections, though his cadence was off sometimes. Having said that either they didnt credit someone for doing the female voices OR the narrator does really convincing female voices - I would not be able to tell if it was either! 👍

The first 3/4 of the book I thought were great!
Then it kind of fell apart a little at the end but was still a enjoyable book.
It is annoying how often the ‘former marine’ has to be reminded constantly to reload his weapons and after months of training certain skills forget to use them right away.
Will try the next book and hope the stupid military vet theme used for character progression is dropped as well as the juvenile attitude of the 25 something MC is left behind as well

Narrator was excellent!

I like it, but the writing is jilted and there’s no expression in the way people react it’s just bland monologue a lot of the time.
The narrator was a bad choice, has no inflection of emotion. Is too focused on the annunciation of each word so there’s odd pauses and a bit monotone.

Still enjoyed it despite that, wouldn’t listen to it a second time unless it had a decent narrator like Luke Daniels or someone else.

What if anything you wrote became true? When an angry dwarf at a traveling carnival promises Roger something that could change his life, he never thought it would come in the form of a magic pen. Now, anything the introverted college student writes becomes true, and with its power, he'll finally be able to take revenge on the bullies who have tormented him. There's just one problem. A group of assassins will do anything to get the pen, he accidentally made a entire squad of dancers into slaves, and his best friend somehow got an all-powerful mech. Maybe that's three problems....

The author goes to a LOT of effort to try and make it seem like the MC, after using the pen once, is just having women throw themselves at him for no reason at all - after he erases a line that make a woman have sex with him - she still loves him more or less.

No plot to speak of, a bit of random stuff really. Really just seems like its the wish list the Author has in his head if he ever finds a magic pen really.
