The narrator sounds like Tarryn Brumfitt which kinda ruined it a little for me. As I found it really distracting having recently listened to the book Embrace. The parts about the neighbours Ian and Julie had me cracking up laughing. Overall I liked the story and the narration was good.

Story
One night changes everything for Toby. A brutal attack leaves him traumatised, unsure even of the person he used to be. He seeks refuge at his uncle's rambling home, the Ivy House, filled with cherished memories of wild-strawberry summers and teenage parties with his cousins. But not long after Toby's arrival, a discovery is made. A skull, tucked neatly inside the old wych elm in the garden.

I have been waiting on this novel for ages. I love the Dublin Murder Squad series so I had high hopes for this. This just did not meet my expectations and fell flat for me. I disliked the characters, except Hugo. Toby bothered me, he just grated on my nerves. The storyline just didn’t grab or hold my attention. The book ended depressingly too. All in all I just didn’t like it and would not recommend.

Good story, not the best narration

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I wouldn't because of the narration.
Would you be willing to try another book from Laurie Forest? Why or why not?
Yes I am looking forward to wandfasted coming out.
How could the performance have been better?
The narrative was not the best. The accents by the narrator was terrible.I really hate it when fantasy novels are read with American style words like (h)ERBs. It sounds stupid. The American accent just made the main character sound very mean girly/whining that at some points I found very hard to listen too.
Could you see The Black Witch being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?
If it was it would be better played by English actors.

Summer. Massachusetts. An old Silver Wraith with a frightening history. A story about one serial killer and his lingering, unfinished business. Anyone could be next. We're going to Christmasland.... NOS4A2 is an old-fashioned horror novel in the best sense. Claustrophobic, gripping and terrifying, this is a story that will have you on the edge of the seat while you listen and leaving the lights on while you sleep.

Story
The Ocean at the End of the Lane is a fable that reshapes modern fantasy: moving, terrifying and elegiac - as pure as a dream, as delicate as a butterfly's wing, as dangerous as a knife in the dark - from storytelling genius Neil Gaiman. It's about memory and magic and survival, about the power of stories and the darkness inside each of us. It began for our narrator forty years ago when the family lodger stole their car and committed suicide in it, stirring up ancient powers best left undisturbed.

Story
The book that changed the consciousness of a country - and the world. Landmark, groundbreaking, classic - these adjectives barely describe the earthshaking and long-lasting effects of Betty Friedan's The Feminine Mystique. This is the book that defined "the problem that has no name," that launched the Second Wave of the feminist movement, and has been awakening women and men with its insights into social relations, which still remain fresh, ever since.

What made the experience of listening to The Feminine Mystique the most enjoyable?
Parker Posey was a fantastic choice, she is amazing.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Its hard to believe that with all of our advances so many women are still falling for the feminine mystic.
I found it so hard to come to terms that women have fought so hard for rights, rights now it seems women today take for granted with the re immergence of the 50's style house wife. I cringe when I hear someone call themselves a 'wifey'. Or when I watch a friend a change herself into someone else for a man. These women would roll in their graves.
I needed to read this book to be reminded of all that was fought for.
It was actually sickening to me listening to the chapters on advertising fuelling womens need or wants to be fulfilled because its rampant today. That has not changed and until reading this book I had never even thought to think of where it may have stemmed from.
This book has made me want to learn more on the women's movement.
I was completely overwhelmed and awed at times during this book.

Where does Written in Red rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
At the top! I loved it!Pretty much complained via email right away because the second book is not available on Audible yet!! Hurry up!Anne bishop creates worlds that just capture me completely. She is an amazing author who inspires me and keeps me entertained in ever book she has written.Meg Corbyn is a blood prophet known as a Cassandra sangue she can see the future when her skin is cut, each cut brings her closer to death, each cut earns her controller money. Meg is a strong character, from the get go almost freezing in her escape. She may appear fragile to the others but she is anything but. Meg finds protection, safety and friendship in the unlikely place of the courtyard of the others, run my Simon Wolfguard. The tension between Meg and Simon is beautiful and not many authors can pull that off!Meg and Simons growing and evolving relationship is so natural and gradual. You can read a million urban fantasy novels and the same things happen over and over, girl meets boy, they get together profess their love, struggle, win - happy ending. Anne does not do that, it all plays out naturally, its slow and moving and beautiful. Your relationship with the characters grows as their relationship with each other grows. You smile and laugh when you as the reader know/ understand their confusion of their thoughts and feelings. Its powerful. Its something Anne is a master off.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The transformation of Sam brought a lump to my throat and a tear to my eyes. It was awesome to read, funny and sad all wrapped in one.
Any additional comments?

Would you try another book written by Veronica Roth or narrated by Emma Galvin and Aaron Stanford?
Not sure about Veronica Roth I think I need a break from her style of writing, I hung on reading all three books. The wording she uses at times drove me nuts
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Stop it with the he said, she said, they said over and over times infinity. I almost broke my phone in anger. In fact you could probably do a drinking game, do shots every time the narrator has to say 'She said' 'He said' 'I said'. It was off putting having listened to Emma be Tris for two books and then have Aaron act as her. It at times sounded like Aaron made Tris out to be a whiny girly annoying push over. It was very hard to get used to that.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Emma Galvin and Aaron Stanford?
Yes,
Was Allegiant (Divergent, Book 3) worth the listening time?
Yes it was,
