Iceland has a mystical quality to many of us in the Southern Hemisphere. This book has enhanced that mystisism.

Grey read. Epic Story.

Loved this book. I learned so much. Will doubtless read it again. It presented what is such a huge part of history, but little known to me.

A Great Yarn.

So entertaining and enlightening. I was on the edge of my seat for much of it. I loved the spy stories and history and also learning about the family dynamics. I found myself envying their childhood.

Everything you know about this Presidency is confined in horrifying detail. I couldn't stop listening despite the anxiety it was provoking.

Great read and well performed. It explains so much about the politics of the time, albeit from Turnbull's perspective. I particularly liked his memories from his earlier life and the relationship with Lucy. I had always liked MT until he became PM. I felt if you're going to be ousted anyway, then you may as well go out in a blaze. of glory. I have no trouble believing his assertions re other parliamentarians. I believe he is a man of principal. My main disappointment, which I thought was inadequately tackled was the mess that is off shore detention. It seems that on this, Australian politicians are committed to perpetuate the cruelty, regardless of where they sit on the Political spectrum.

Such a beautiful, compelling story. So well performed by Tom Hanks, but he had great material from which to work.

I have often wondered why Cromwell so willingly became the Henry's foul. This gives an explanation into the possible thinking of him at the time. It's like he knew what his fate would be but couldn't/wouldn't extricate himself from it.

Loved the book, but it was so hard to listen to the constant litany of abuse and injuries which most members of this family have sustained. Once again, the Burdon on children of mentally ill parents, is chilling to hear. Tara's persistence trying to hang on to her toxic family, causes visceral pain. I'm glad she is at peace with it. This story is also about people who do not deserve their children.
