The sun is setting on the Western world. Slowly but surely, the direction in which the world spins has reversed: where for the last five centuries the globe turned westward on its axis, it now turns to the east.... For centuries, fame and fortune were to be found in the West - in the New World of the Americas. Today it is the East that calls out to those in search of adventure and riches. The region stretching from Eastern Europe and sweeping right across Central Asia, deep into China and India, is taking center stage.

The narration was excellent. Will be listening again. Such an interesting and worthwhile take on history. My only criticism, is that it is still all from a western perspective. The politics of the East largely skipped.

The inside story on President Trump, as only Bob Woodward can tell it. With authoritative reporting honed through eight presidencies from Nixon to Obama, author Bob Woodward reveals in unprecedented detail the harrowing life inside President Donald Trump’s White House and precisely how he makes decisions on major foreign and domestic policies. Woodward draws from hundreds of hours of interviews with firsthand sources, meeting notes, personal diaries, files and documents. The focus is on the explosive debates and the decision-making in the Oval Office, the Situation Room, Air Force One and the White House residence.

Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook addition of According to Yes, the hilarious new novel by Dawn French. The Foreign Land of the Very Wealthy - otherwise known as Manhattan's Upper East Side - has its own rigid code of behaviour. It's a code strictly adhered to by the Wilder-Bingham family. Emotional displays - unacceptable. Unruly behaviour - definitely not welcome. Fun - no thanks. This is Glenn Wilder-Bingham's kingdom.

What if they hadn't gone? That's the question Clementine can't stop asking herself. It was just a backyard barbeque. They didn't know their hosts that well. They were friends of friends. They could so easily have said no. But she and her husband, Sam, said yes, and now they can never change what they did and didn't do that beautiful winter's day.

Shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize 2015. A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara is an immensely powerful and heartbreaking novel of brotherly love and the limits of human endurance. When four graduates from a small Massachusetts college move to New York to make their way, they're broke, adrift and buoyed only by their friendship and ambition. Over the decades, their relationships deepen and darken, tinged by addiction, success and pride.

What made the experience of listening to A Little Life the most enjoyable?

I was utterly convinced by the characters. I felt it was in great part a story about men. The absolute worst and the very best. Complex, loving male relationships and destructive, evil ones.

What did you like best about this story?

Every character was so thoroughly human. I could relate to all of them.

Which character – as performed by Oliver Wyman – was your favourite?

Jude. I could feel his anguish. He will haunt me for a long time.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book is an orgy of misery. Found myself crying in a busy aiport while listening to the book. Sometimes the sadness was so unrelenting I wanted to put it aside but couldn't. I was very glad when it was over. Didn't think I could take it anymore. If you want a good and long, long cry; read this book.

Any additional comments?

I think the actor did a great job. This is definitely one of the best audio books I've listened to and attribute much of this to the narrator.
