Story
Drowning in the depths of depression and sadness, burning with anger, and chained down by alcoholism, Jonathan couldn't do any more. After the death of his father as a young boy, facing countless horrific death scenes in the line of duty, and the loss of his first son, Jonathan turned to the world for answers - finding only darkness. Facing the threat of losing his job as a police officer, the loss of his wife and daughter, and contemplating suicide, Jonathan turns to the only one who can truly save - Jesus.

This is a great story for men, for their wives and grown children who live with or have lived through the devastation of alcohol and its related problems. It is a factual account that takes a reader through a tragic story that many have suffered but not all have navigated well. For those that know a similar story themselves, it touches our hearts and brings healing through the only One who can plumb these depths of pain with us. The One the author found and clung to in his deepest need.

Story
Named one of the top books of 2009 by the Times Literary Supplement (London), this controversial and compelling audiobook from Dr. Stephen C. Meyer presents a convincing new case for intelligent design (ID) based on revolutionary discoveries in science and DNA. Along the way Meyer argues that Charles Darwin's theory of evolution as expounded in The Origin of Species did not, in fact, refute ID.

An extremely important scientific work.

Meyer has produced a thorough going analysis and assessment of relevant contemporary scientific work and applied functionally grounded and well tested analyses to provide much needed insights in his field. His work also provides brilliant and clear suggestions for further studies. No doubt it is a seminal work that will inspire rational scientific thought and work for decades, or more, to follow.

Story
Unless God helps us, there is no hope, Captain Morris yelled over the roar of the storm. Hudson Taylor had to agree. Indeed the Dumfries might sink this very day and he would never live to see the shores of China, a land whose people he was certain God had called him to. Hudson survived his perilous maiden voyage to his beloved China. With his heart set in determined obedience to God, Hudson overcame persecution and almost overwhelming personal losses to bring God's truth to the "ripe harvest fields" of China.

Thought provoking and thoroughly enjoyable. The story brings out the very human side of this missionary’s vision and struggle and the very wonderful and miraculous power of Jesus in the life of a wonderful man of God and those who worked with him.

Dr Leaf has long impressed me with her work in neuropsychology but this book introduces scientific and spiritual insights into the relationship between mind and spirit. Something that most everyone failed at in prior decades. It is an amazing book.
