Story
Lou and Josh have been together for 14 years. They share two kids, a mortgage, careers and plenty of history. Now, after a particularly fraught Christmas, Lou is ready to ask herself: is this marriage worth hanging on to? Every month for a year, Lou sets a different test for their relationship - from daily sex to brutal honesty - to help her decide if she should stay or go. Secrets are exposed, old wounds reopened and a true-to-life suburban love story unfolds.

I loved it.

But then I have enjoyed all Holly’s books. Well written account of the two perspectives that make up a relationship. This resonated with me as I too am into my 14th year of marriage - no infidelity, but certainly some big life changes to contend with. Fictional though it is, this book provided some points to reflect upon. It’s easy to get caught in your own perspective and entangled in your feelings. The narration was great and certainly helped to bring the words to life. Now I have to wait for Holly’s next book and as we all know, that’s the hardest part. Well done Miss Holly, well done!

Story
Josie Bianci was killed years ago on a train during a terrorist attack. Gone forever. It’s what her sister, Kit, an ER doctor in Santa Cruz, has always believed. Yet all it takes is a few heart-wrenching seconds to upend Kit’s world. Live coverage of a club fire in Auckland has captured the image of a woman stumbling through the smoke and debris. Her resemblance to Josie is unbelievable. And unmistakable. With it comes a flood of emotions - grief, loss, and anger - that Kit finally has a chance to put to rest: by finding the sister who’s been living a lie.

Nothing wrong with the narration
Reviewed: 28-04-2020
I loved this book and I have read and listened to hundreds. The ‘issues’ people seem to have with the narration are because of the American/New Zealand cross over and as mentioned in a previous review Kiwis’ speak like that. It is also damn hard to not take on their accent. We love it here in Australia. This book is so sweet, with touches of sadness, grapplings with past events and love found. Do yourself a favour and grab this one, it’s a beauty!

Story
A queen now in exile as a traitor, Lara has watched Ithicana be conquered by her own father, helpless to do anything to stop the destruction. But when she learns her husband, Aren, has been captured in battle, Lara knows there is only one reason her father is keeping him alive: as bait for his traitorous daughter. And it is bait she fully intends to take. Risking her life to the Tempest Seas, Lara returns to Ithicana with a plan not only to free its king, but for liberating the Bridge Kingdom from her father’s clutches using his own weapons: the sisters whose lives she spared.

Well done Candice, another fab instalment if the Crimson Lake series. I love your character development and your writing style is not bogged down with needless detail. Lani has also done a great job. I’m glad he was used again as there is nothing worse then when a narrator is changed throughout the series. Fab work team.
