It’s great to listen to an autobiography of a down to earth, successful minority woman. It is a story we do not hear enough.

A candid and open memoir of the untold, nastier but unfortunately often true experience of being a person of colour in Australia. Although attitudes towards racism have greatly improved since the 1980s, remnants of what the author duscusses are still prevalent today and relevant to today’s society. Definitely touched a nerve with me.

I have a much greater appreciation of things and tidying after reading this book. It has really brought me satisfaction to tidy after/while listening to this book. There are also great anecdotes inside that are nice to listen to. The author has such as lovely tone of voice, as does the narrator. It has really helped me get rid of a lot of things I didn't need.

wasn't enthralled by the book but finished it because I was curious about the ending. somehow the ending seemed like too simple a solution to the problems.
