I struggled with Ramona Blue at the start and took awhile for me to finish about nilly a year or two. I think I wasn't in the headspace for this story and then I was surprised, when I did pick it up again. It really hit home for me. I actually gave it a chance and really listened to it. This book had emotions, mixed of confusion for ones identity, struggling with family, relationships and having your whole world pressing down on your shoulders with all the burdens of responsibilities that you have no control over. It's okay to let go and change into a better version of yourself and the relationships around you to grow into something new or even to let go. This is a beautiful story and it was a shame that it took me awhile to read.

There was time when, I wanted her to confess about her sister killing those man and she had opportunists but that was never going to happen. I could see where it was going, there wasn't a shock factor for me. I didn't mind the the narrator, she blended well with the story.

I love the world Deborah created, I haven't enjoyed a storyline with witches, vampires and demons in a long time. I love the concept of magic and science intertwined together and how history plays in with it all. I would have to say this would be my first sophisticated grown up fantasy in my book collection and same parts I would have to go back over because I blanked on some of it but got the concept. The narrator was good, she was easy to listen too and I was thankful that she was because I had a hard time reading the physical copy of this book. I only got half way in the first chapter and then I gave up and got rid of it, but I finally finished it. If you're having difficulties reading this book like I was. I would say just listen to the audio, it is so much better.
