I only got to chapter 8. That's 8 chapters of listening to immature women thinking and talking like all the men I met and worked with in the 70's - 80's - 90s. The whole story seems to constantly talk about obsessing over men, sexually, poor men. The narrator was drooling and breathing heavily - not sure if it was the author's words or just the way she interpreted them.

Lovely and sweet but a little to Saccharin for me. I have many Milly Johnson books in my library, this was the first to disappoint. A lovely, warm tale of humankind but no real grunt in the romance. Missed an opportunity for some angst and rivalry between characters to hold my interest, after the opening chapter hinted strongly there would be some. Narration perfect again of course.

What a lovely surprise.

I thought the story was sweet and simple at first, and was enjoying the narrators' performances. Well done on the duet format by the way, this should be used far more often than it is despite the cost as we are paying a fair price to listen.
Then the story started to grab me with all its 'interruptions' and I quickly clued in on the twist. I started groaning, cheering and laughing out loud and found myself immersed in their budding romance.
Surprisingly refreshing and enjoyable and I will look out for another....I think Elliot might have a story there?

Gee, Karen Swan really packs a punch with her 'reality' romances. The romance is everywhere, not just in the love stories, but in each of the characters' own story.

Totally romantic. I'd rather listen to Stevi narrate all characters in every audiobook I listen to, than include a male narrator without that perfect timing and inflection she has in spades. What a beautiful voice she has, I could listen to her all day. And the story itself was full of witty comments and easy dialogue that was so enjoyable.

I thought this was going to be funny, and I just had to put up with the narrator.
But it soon plummeted into ridiculous and I felt like I was listening to a mash up of dozens of other romance books. It was all over the place and if I heard "billionaire" mentioned one more time I was going to blow a gasket.

Another great listen.

My home town of Perth, Western Australia and Kings Park, got a part in this story and it gave me a buzz. I listen to so many USA stories, I feel like I know their country so well, so it was a lovely surprise.
Well read, well written. Not sure I liked the voices of the male characters, but you get used to it and wrapped in the story. The Epilogue was great, and was much more enjoyable than the long, drawn out final chapters before it. Once the HEA has been reached, its time to wrap it up folks.

Terrible narration.

I thought at times it was one of those automatic machine voices. I kept turning up the speed until I realised it doesn't change the continuous intonations in the wrong place, and the over-pronunciation of every word.

Then. there. is. the. story. I. am. sorry. I. had. to. listen. to. every. detail. I. am. surprised. I. was. not. told. exactly. how. she. buttoned. her. shirt. I. am. not. going. to. finish. this. book. I. am. sorry.

He's, she's, it's, there's, I'm, you're - all belong in the English language and most fiction books with dialogue. I wonder if the author read it aloud at all.

What an engrossing story!

Well narrated, had me held.

Plus I learned a new word " Gaslighting". I've been trying to tell my little stories to anyone, everyone and no-one took me seriously. Now there is one word, explaining it ALL.
Thank you Claire McGowan. My feet are on solid ground at Rock Bottom and I am about to kick ass! Well, I will tell someone to look it up and collect proof.

Loved the Hairdresser quips. So true and so much so I've cut and coloured my own hair for the last 15 years. Twice I reneged and cried at the lousy result.
This book was a little faster paced and that may be due to the setting.
Well done, you actually had me laughing.
