McDougall's work inspires lots of people to indulge in frivolous activities with baseless claims to all sorts of things. he really needs to cite the papers of everyone he puts into his stories so that way we can have a more subjective view at the material therein... otherwise this is a great tale of mythical characters in the modern age.

though often self centred and masturbatory, the book has some great anecdotes and useful lessons. and its pretty darn cool that we get to hear it right from the authors mouth... i had some pretty low expectations, but they were misplaced, it's definitely worth a listen. maybe even 2 or 3.

Great story, but sadly a lot of vegan bro science... You cannot quote studies in your book when the studies themselves site spurrious correlations to any perceived benefits. This culture of quoting 1 successful study out of 100 failed studies has got to stop. It really ruined the awesome story of someone going from a lethargic nobody to Ultra distance somebody; having a lot of stupid disproven science throughout.. the most painful part was hearing 'alkalising your body pH'... if you enjoy ultra running and the challenge of pushing ones limits and can completely ignore the obvious bias of the author towards his sponsors... give this book a go. if you hate woo woo science and can't stomach the obvious stupidity of statements around 'free radicals' and 'alkalising'... then give it a miss. the final 20 minutes are especially painful.

maddening at times, harrowing at others... a short novel on one man's journey struggling to find his place in the old city of Kristiania... A must read.

This book and it's contents are gripping. You won't want to stop listening, the perfomance is undeniably perfect for the content and I could not recommend it more. if you aspire to join the world of intelligence or are an avid fan of counter terrorism this is a book you will need to read at some point in your life. It's contents are relatable and harrowing as well as inspiring.

this book is basically a pamphlet for this guys own business sales. nothing to be to be gained or learned here... don't bother purchasing it. there are other far better books out there that cover similar material in a much better way.

Katrin reads the book herself and really brings to life the emotions she penned. Outstanding.
