I am a big fan of Stephen King but I could not finish this book. I read The Shining many years ago and was looking forward to this sequel but, unfortunately it was a disappointment. The passages are long and drawn out and at times it felt like Stephen King was just writing dribble to fill the pages. The chapters didn't seem to flow and at times the story lines and their characters were hard to follow. I think that the narrator Will Patton was also part of the problem as he seemed to struggle to alter his voice enough to suite the storylines which, also made it hard to differentiate between the different chapters and characters.
I am not going to waste anymore time on this audiobook. I will watch the movie instead.

Very immersive & great value for money

Another great book from Stephen King and very well narrated by Santino Fontana (I give 2 thumbs up for Santino). This book audiobook is great value for money as it is 18 hours and 59 minutes long with no long drawn out passages or any boring repetitive dribble. I was totally engrossed and riveted throughout the entire book. If you have not read/listened to a Stephen King book before and are looking for a new author to start following then I highly recommend that you read this book.

My favourite audio book to date.

Wow, this is a great audio book. The story line had me engrossed from the opening chapter. If you love dogs & detective stories then this is the book for you. It tells the story from the characters including the police dog Maggie’s perspective. The narrator is gold & needs to be congratulated on a job well done. This is my first Robert Crais book and what an intro to this author. I just started listening to The Promise which Scott & Maggie appear in & can’t wait for RC to release more Scott & Maggie books. In saying that we need to ensure that MacLeod Andrews stays part of this great team as the team would not be the same without him.

Great story line with an excellent narrator

This one keeps you guessing right until the very end. It really gives one a feel for life in the Australian outback. The book didn’t seem to have any lulls in it. I was fully engrossed until throughout the book & found it very hard to put down. A special thumbs up & thank you to the narrator Steve for his excellent portrayal of the different characters .

Very good book. Very engrossing and hard to put down.

This is my first James Patterson book. Sometimes when I listen to audio books my mind tends to wonder off but it's not the case with this book. I highly recommend this book to any reader who likes a good detective mystery book.
