It took me until the 3rd book to really start to enjoy this series. I dont jest when I say that there is so much gayness its really hard for a hetero straight guy to be comfortable. Seems like all the bad guys like anal sex, LOTS of anal sex. But also there is hetro sex and other good stuff. But the anal rape is kinda hard to get used to. That being said, once you lube up and get into the story its really good. I found that I wanted to listen more and more as it gave me a different perspective into the life of love. Maybe opened my legs a little (But not enough for unwashed anal) to that kind of story telling. I think its a good mix for female and male listeners. But not so good if you dont want to put the time in to learning about all the strands. Learning about the characters and all the magical theory is hard. But once you understand it its good. The love scenes are really good. Be it anal or not anal rape. Some times there is consenctual hetero sex. But not often. Mostly is anal.

Story
Just when Baron Minalan the Spellmonger figured out there was a slim chance to restore his mind-shattered wife Alya (if he's willing to journey to the undercaverns of Olum Seheri, the lair of Korbal the Necromancer), things start to go awry: not only does Prince Tavard, his unloved liege lord, decide to conduct an official state visit to Sevendor on pilgrimage to the Everfire on the Briga's feast day, but a mysterious seamage appears at his door with an intriguing offer from the Sea Folk who rule Callidore: They want to buy snowstone. An entire mountain of it.

Story
Erik knew one thing after dropping in, when he first saw the numbers before his eyes, the rumors about the "cursed" were true. He was in another world. Survival wasn’t assured. Cultivate, get skills, grow abilities, or die. His old life, as a combat medic, had been hard, but he had learned some valuable lessons. And he wasn’t alone. His best friend, a marine recon sniper, like always, was right by his side. Could they figure out this fantasy world? What does it mean to ascend? How will they master the magic of this strange place?

I really enjoyed this story. Cant wait for more adventures from Eric and Rugrat. Its funny, exciting and captivates imagination. Might not be for some people. But for me I give it an 8/10, I really just wanted to know what came next.

This is a fresh and amazing adventure. As a sci-fi veteran and audio book master I can say this book is a great story. Only issue I had was with the S pronunciation it's kind of annoying but I got used to it and enjoyed the listen.
