I was totally impressed with this book. The story was brilliant and well put together and the narrator was excellent. I was totally spellbound right from the start. Another book where life gets in the way of a great story. Looking forward to future books.

Among the bustling markets of 18th century Cairo, the city's outcasts eke out a living swindling rich Ottoman nobles and foreign invaders alike. But alongside this new world, the old stories linger. Tales of djinn and spirits. Of cities hidden among the swirling sands of the desert, full of enchantment, desire and riches. Where magic pours down every street, hanging in the air like dust.

The story had me enthralled from the start! The characters developed well as the the book progressed and the narrator had a wonderful voice which was easy to listen to. I had previously downloaded Nine Perfect Strangers but I found the narration of that book grating. Still have not gotten past the first couple of chapters of that one. This one I finished in a flash!
