Thea Osborne and her trusty spaniel, Hepzie, have been asked by the Montgomerys to look after their house in Blockley while they take a much-needed holiday. Their elderly mother, Granny Gardner, shouldn't be any trouble - although she is slightly forgetful. Thea's got far more to worry about when a body is discovered in the house next door.

Would you try another book written by Rebecca Tope or narrated by Caroline Lennon?

The delightful Cotswold setting, and fairly interesting plotline were marred by the thoroughly unlikeable protagonist. Negligent in her role as house-sitter and minder of an elderly lady, unsupportive of her daughter's career choice as a police officer, her moral superiority and patronising observations as she went about her investigations made me rather hope that she too might end up a corpse. Alas, no such luck.

Would you recommend A Cotswold Mystery to your friends? Why or why not?

Not really.

What does Caroline Lennon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Thank goodness for Caroline Lennon. Had it not been for her engaging delivery in bringing other characters to life (excuse the pun), I would not have persisted with the story.

If this book were a film would you go see it?

No

Three short stories. Two engaging characters who investigate possible murders without blatant nosiness. Likeable narration.
