Story
Seeking refuge and anonymity in the cobbled streets of Montmartre, Yanne and her daughters, Rosette and Annie, live peacefully, if not happily, above their little chocolate shop. Nothing unusual marks them out; no red sachets hang by the door. The wind has stopped - at least for a while. Then into their lives blows Zozie de l’Alba, the lady with the lollipop shoes, and everything begins to change….

This is a wonderful book written by a brilliant storyteller. Deliciously descriptive, builds suspense and intrigue. Well narrated, not by the author, but the crisp English accent gave the narcissist the hardness needed. Having the misfortune to have met people like Zozie, her portrayal was frighteningly accurate, and I was glad for the happy ending to her involvement.

This is a wonderful book written by a brilliant storyteller. Deliciously descriptive, builds suspense and intrigue, and continues the magic of Vianne and her life. Very interesting cultural topic, being experienced the world over currently. I did enjoy the narration of the priest, but missed Joanne's voice as Vianne, narrating her own story.

Story
When an exotic stranger, Vianne Rocher, arrives in the French village of Lansquenet and opens a chocolate boutique directly opposite the church, Father Reynaud denounces her as a serious moral danger to his flock - especially as it is the beginning of Lent, the traditional season of self-denial. As passions flare and the conflict escalates, the whole community takes sides. Can the solemnity of the church compare with the sinful pleasure of a chocolate truffle?

A wonderful story, woven together so well. Like all of Kate’s books, there is a long beginning, but it’s so relaxing and descriptive. The narrator struggled to do the Australian accent, but it was a delight to listen to. Very hard to pull myself away from.

This book was an excellent ending to the trilogy. I had to read number 3! A very realistic telling of the emotional scars abandonment and mental illness leave on those who love and how love is the only remedy for pain. The narrator who spoke Amy’s story was very automated though. Overall I enjoyed it, not without tears though, and I couldn’t put it down.
