Brilliant narrator, this story really suited being read aloud. A wonderfully arrogant dandy travelling with his clever, medially minded sister - what more could you want? Final climax fell a tiny bit short but loved everything else.

I loved the premise but felt distanced by the fact that there was only one woman in the entire story. Language was casual and humorous which was an interesting contrast to the usual writing of fantasy but carried through the crossing of modern culture and medieval England. Also kind of pretended to make mild feminist statements while not representing women at all which felt weird. Maybe it's the juxtaposition of both cultures that made me more aware of this?

Cool story, well read.

Stephen Fry is the perfect narrator for Harry Potter!! When you think you may have read Harry Potter too many times this is the perfect contrast.

Just an all round great book. It's so nice to find a leading lady who is clued in and clever and not a tool of her surroundings. Interesting premise, well read, love the voices.
