This book was free so I thought I'd give it a try, really glad I did as I had a hard time putting it down. laughed out loud at the antics of 8 yr old Darren and came close to tears many times but it is well worth a read or listen and I am looking forward to listening to other books from this author. I would also say that the narration was superb.

I always struggled reading these classics but this was brought to life for me. Who knew Dickens was funny?! Thoroughly enjoyed this series and would definitely recommend. I think the perfect narrator was paired with this series. Well done!

A bit disappointing.

Although well written and narrated I did find this a bit slow to start. Don't think I'll bother with the next in series though, I felt the story line needed a bit more work the middle was fine but significant events towards the end were rushed and after getting to know all these characters they just get abandoned as we follow Lana to her next encounter. definitely won't be going on the repeat listening pile. sorry.

Only negative is the narrator was sometimes hesitant as she was making sure she spoke clearly. This is a great book and I'm looking forward to the next in series.

I think I've found my new series. Listened to this book in one stretch just could not put it down. Luke Daniels is of course an amazing narrator and the reason I stumbled on this gem. Can't wait to listen to the next in series.
