I've Got 13 Hours Left - But I'll have to Stop

This has got to be the longest ever story that I have ever heard. It is longer than Lord of the Rings. It comes nowhere close to being as good.

There are an inordinate number of parts. The parts after part 1 bear very little connection to part 1. The chapters are not cohesive, they are not connected very well, lots left unexplained and, the chapters just ramble and ramble. Each of them is like a soap opera not contributing to the overall story, if in fact there is any story left.

I write these thoughts now, because I don't think I can mange the remaining 13 hours.

Seventy odd chapters but it started getting tiresome long before that. The detectives in the story were somewhat of a non event and, there was no end. It just stopped. It was like the writer had nowhere to go and didn't know how to finish the story.

The idea of the story is great. The characters' dry humor I found enjoyable. The story kept me interested for 50 chapters. Thereafter, we have the battle with the intruders from the other dimension. I could have done without this. The whole battle thing was just plain stupid.

The end leaves open the possibility of another story and I think, if that were to happen, I would buy it.

Didn't know what to expect as the book progressed. It turns out to be a really nice and difficult to put down family story - dry sense of humor that I enjoyed very much. A pleasant change from shoot-em-ups and impossible feats of cheating death. This was a really worthwhile listen.

a lot of coincidence. quite predictable in terms of what was going to happen next. I pretty much knew who was going to die and not die. overall it was just ok.

The story was going along nicely in the beginning and I was enjoying it. It then took a turn that I was totally not expecting. It had me engrossed right to the end. Great story. Don't miss out - get this.

I got in to just about half way and had to give up. It's quite philosophical, I think, but the story was quite dry.

The story dragged a little too long at the start and I nearly put it down. But, I stuck with it and it turned out to be quite a riveting story and performance I'm glad I stuck to listening...

The surprise being that this exceeded my expectations, having seen the movie before reading the book. This far surpasses the movie and had me interested all throughout the story. It is one of the best that I have heard so far.
