Definitely got a lot deeper than I thought it would. After listening to his book I feel like there's a whole other side to JVN I was never aware of - and I guess that's the point of him sharing his story!
The first couple of chapters have a very showpony shine to his voice but as he gets into and more comfortable he relaxes into the book. So you may need to stay with and trust it will get better for a couple of chapters.

I originally listened as I was just listening to all the Fab Five audiobiogrophies, I wouldn't have listened if it wasn't for the other guys having books - but I'm glad I did!
Well worth listening to if you're looking for your next biography.

it was ok, it helped me get through my commute. There wasn't anything overly inspirational about her story, she had funny moments but really it was just ok.

An amazing insight to mental illness and addiction

While it was difficult to start, I am so glad I finished listening to this book. It was raw, honest and allowed the opportunity to understand the perspective of someone's rise to fame and the struggles that went with it.
Not an easy ride but so glad he shared his story!

great voice performance, story did jump around a lot but if you listen to the end interview it makes more sense. I didn't realise all this was going on so it was very eye opening and I can only imagine the internal struggle she would have gone through to share her story. very brave of her but I appreciated hearing it.

I had this sitting in my wishlist for a number of months not really sure what to think about it and whether to commit. While I was overseas with a lot of travel time to fill I had started a couple of other books but was looking for something a bit more lighthearted and wasn't finding what I wanted. I started this book and was finished within 48 hours.
She's absolutely crazy and at times cringeworthy but in a way that you just want to keep listening and know what the outcome was.
By far the best audio performance I've heard yet, with a nice surprise guest voice in there too.
Story was pretty thoroughly entertaining the whole way through too.

Glad I stuck it out

It was a bit hard to get into, I wasn't sure how I was going to go with her voice sounding like it was just reading off the page. However I'm glad I kept at it because her story is very interesting. Do be warned that she does go into quite heavy detail about her abduction and happenings after. I like that the story didn't just finished when she was reunited with her family, but we got an insight to how she's moved past it all in the years since.
