Christopher would never hurt anyone. Not intentionally. Even after everything that’s happened, I still believe that... Christopher Harris is a lonely boy. A boy who has never fit into his family. Who has always felt something was missing from his life. Until one day, when he discovers a suitcase in his family’s attic, and a secret about his mother that changes everything.... Perfect for fans of The Girl on the Train, The Sister, and Apple Tree Yard.

Story
Every bartender should follow one simple rule - don't go home with the customers. That’s been easy for me to stick to, until the night a cocky, confident, and sinfully charming hockey star walks into my bar. This sexy athlete is too hard to resist, especially when he makes it clear how much he wants the “sarcastic, witty, hot AF” guy behind the bar - also known as me. Still, I’m not keen on breaking my own rules since I know where that can lead - no place good.

First of all, i must say the narrators did an AMAAAAAAZING job with this!! So much so that I had to google what they actually look like! The story is simple but very sweet. Even during the sex bits, you can't help but go "awww..." It was like rom-com style in the beginning, and i was like ((rolls eyes)) but the story did pick up. I enjoyed it

Me and Will. Will and Me. A perfect match. He said he would always be there for me, but it’s been a year since he drained his coffee, walked out the front door and vanished. Did he leave me? Or did something terrible happen? I’m scared someone finally found out about what happened on the drive home that night...I lie awake at night trawling the internet for rental properties, desperate for an escape. Until I see my husband’s gorgeous face smiling back at me from a photograph on the fireplace in someone else’s home, and something inside of me snaps....

Story
The most advanced scientific enterprise ever mounted, Sir John Franklin’s 1845 expedition in search of the fabled Northwest Passage had every expectation of triumph. But for almost two years his ships, HMS Terror and Erebus, have been trapped in the Arctic ice. Supplies of fuel and food are running low. Scurvy, starvation and even madness are beginning to take their toll. And yet the real threat isn’t from the constantly shifting, alien landscape, the flesh-numbing temperatures or being crushed by the unyielding, frozen ocean. No, the real threat is far more terrifying.

WHAT AN AMAZING BOOK! I'M OBSESSED!

Ok, i first thought that this long-as historical story would be boring. Boy was I wrong! The story was RIVETING! Extremely well-written to the point that I was Googling if this story was actually real etc (turns out, it's *sorta* true) and this story made me subscribe to Amazon Prime *JUST* so i could watch the film adaptation!! The narrator did a splendid job with mood, speed, different voices and accents (even Inuit! I dont speak Inuit, but it sounded bloody convincing to me!). It was so engaging such that I was yelling my responses to the car radio (on which I was listening to this Audible on) like a crazy person, liie "No!!! Dr Goodsir! Dont dieeee!!!" Yes, I just did a spoiler there, but seriously, everyone had a bad time on the voyage, so it's kinda expected. So yeah, DEFINITELY one to download. I cannot recommend this enough! Now if you will excuse me, I'm off to binge watch the tv series again :)

Everything about this book was great! I never knew where it was going! at first i thought the daughter was evil, then the mum was evil, then the daughter, then the mum, etc.. it went on and on and i didnt know where the story would take me! It was so well-written! The narrator also did a spectacular job! she read with such emotion, and i was LITERALLY talking to my stereo like, "...and then what? AND THEN WHAT??" as I was totally engrossed in her performance. She also did different voices for the characters, and i legit thought it was narrated by two women, but nope! It was all one person. I would totally recommend this book to EVERYONE! I might even play it again myself :)

2019. The year certainly made its mark on the world. It also made for a bounty of good horror stories of the extreme kind, the best of which the tales herein serve to illustrate. 2019 was the year Year's Best Hardcore Horror went global. Not by design but because the stories inside just happened to have been written by authors hailing from various parts of the globe. From Australia by way of South Africa, to Italy, Scotland, Norway, Taiwan, North America and India - the common denominator being that their tales come from darkest regions of imagination.

This year's collection is one of the better ones in the series. Narrator has a sexy voice no matter what she's saying (not being a pervert, just an observation). Some stories were so gross it LITERALLY made me dry retch, which made the other drivers around me concerned, as I listened to the book while driving. But that's good, coz you know when stories are good when they evoke some sort of reaction from you. Some stories are more poems than anything, which confused me, but it's not the writer's fault that I'm an idiot :)
