When you love someone, how does it feel? And when you desire someone, how is it different? In Mating in Captivity, Esther Perel looks at the story of sex in committed couples. Modern romance promises it all - a lifetime of togetherness, intimacy and erotic desire. In reality, it's hard to want what you already have. Interesting, but not a self help book.
This book could be more accurately marketed - rather than unlocking it’s kind of more observing. While it’s really interesting, it’s hard to apply much of it unless you see your own self in the case studies. Some good key takeaways, but generally not a book of advice but more a book of challenging you to think, and then maybe go and see your own therapist to work out your issues.
