Great story and better without Joe O'Loughlin

For some reason I read this last and found it a nice rest from the Joe O'Loughlin character. I find Victor Ruiz a lot more interesting.

More fights than Tom Cruise

The main character gets into more trouble than a Tom Cruise film. Starting to get a bit over the top. This guy is never at home, doesn't get paid for any of the work he does and seems to win fights that should take him out after the first punch. Sean Barrett is so good, I seem to be able to forgive the writer.

Adam is fantastic to listen to.

As many people have said...Adam Roche is the most interesting and entertaining person to listen to. The work that has gone into his series is obvious and I thank Adam for making these available. I will listen to every one of them.

Every aspect of this is brilliant. The narration keeps the story interesting from the start to the finish. The first half is like listening to a novel about a person you don't know, which is engrossing in its own way. The more familiar part of Audrey's career is more predictable but great to listen to.

Should have got Tom Hanks to read it

I have to agree with the reviews that say it sounded like Michael Caine reading a book. Love him in films and on TV but this was hard to listen to. 2nd half gets a bit more energetic but first half sent me to sleep.

I was disappointed that Sally didn't look back on many things with much passion or gratitude. Many fans loved her early career and understand that you can't start show business at the top. As a result it was hard to get excited listening to Sally's memories of her acting roles. Her personal life was covered with much more emotion and I felt much more engaged even listening to the sadder moments of her life.

Stephen Fry is perfect.

Apart from wonderful stories, Stephen Fry is just perfect as a narrator. His passion for Sherlock Holmes is obvious which makes listening a real pleasure.
