a must read for everyone. Women in their 40s will completely relate. everyone else should read it for a better understanding of human nature and how we are sold ideals that if we cannot live up to we feel like failures.

this was a good story but in typical Elizabeth Gilbert fashion, it went on a bit at places and she reiterated too much. It is an interesting snapshot of history and what it meant to be a defiant woman who couldn't live by society's rules.

great listen if you're looking for something easy with characters you can engage with. Exploring new cities and self growth. The changes positive and negative. Accepting them and learning from them. The only thing I didn't like is the narrator's tone. She read it as though a tragedy could strike any sentence now!

My entire book club was very excited about reading this book especially after the rave reviews... until we started reading it. It's a novel that reviewers love and rave about but in our experience, 8 people found it very difficult to get through. It was disconnected and we never find out why he went into the room!

Loved the humanity of this book. The story was never slow or boring. Every now and again you need to read something that gives you hope for the human race and this book does.

Far too long. Story keeps getting side tracked constantly which makes you forget some of the more important details. Narration was fantastic though. Like listening to a radio drama. Pretty much the only thing that made me stick with the book. Perhaps my expectations were too high from all the hype about the novel. I kept thinking this is like pulling teeth ! Shame I really wanted to like it and saved for my holiday listen.
