After many recommendations and the assumption I would love this book, it just hasn’t clicked with me. I love lighthearted “dribble” and the genre itself. For me, I struggled to connect with the characters and haven’t finished the story yet, because I get irritated or bored easily. That being said the writing is okay and I understand it’s really loved by other readers, so I think it’s just personal preference. The narrators were great though, loved their accents.

Very enjoyable, easy listening

Yes, it’s predicable in places and borderline lame with cliche, but that’s what’s great about it. It’s a cheesy rom com that pulls you in, makes your day brighter and is an indulgent guilty pleasure.

Good storyline, annoying narrator

Took me a while to get into this book because of the irritating narrator (talked way too quickly and in a tone that was a bit too grating for my personal taste). But I persisted as I’ve wanted to read this series for years but never had the time. The story itself was good and very entertaining - some parts dragged a little but others were extremely riveting. I felt there are a number of similarities to Tolkien so if you like Lord of the Rings, you’ll like this.

Sanderson does it again!

Such a fan of his work, almost all his books I’ve binged in days, and I’m new to audible so thought I’d give Skyward a go. It’s actually one of my favourites of his, and with so many amazing novels under his belt, that’s really saying something (I think maybe it’s bc I’m a massive sci fi fan, and this is set in the sky). Laughed out loud on so many occasions within this book too - and Sophie’s performance was fantastic. Highly recommend!
