Story
Once there was magic, and the magic lived in the dark forests. Until the warriors came... This is the story of a young boy wizard and a young girl warrior who have been taught since birth to hate each other like poison and the thrilling tale of what happens when their two worlds collide. Xar is a wizard boy who has no magic and will do anything to get it. Wish is a warrior girl, but she owns a banned magical object, and she will do anything to conceal it.

Doesn't disappoint

My children (6 & 9) and I have listened to all the How to Train your Dragon series which we loved and were bereft when we finished the last book. Looking for our next adventure that was age appropriate for them but still enjoyable for me, we were delighted to find Cressida Cowell had started a new series. I was worried it wouldn't have the same magic as the Dragon series but while the characters at first weren't as loveable, we still thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to continue the story with the next book. David Tennant does a brilliant performance as always. Highly recommended.

Story
The hilarious series which inspired the Dream Works film. Hiccup has three months, five days and six hours to get back to Berk, save his father, battle Polarserpents AND win the annual Inter-Tribal Friendly Swimming Race. Can he do it???? David Tennant reads this hilarious children's clasic which can be enjoyed by everybody.

All the how to train your dragon books have kept my 6yo and 9yo as well as me entertained on the school runs every day. Lots of fun and adventure and a truly important message of a different kind of heroism sorely needed in these times. Highly recommended!
