This narrator was different to the narrators of other LeGuin books in the Hainish cycle and it took me a while to get into it, but once I did I really enjoyed her narration. This is a great story that explores human nature and masculinity in culture and how a toxic culture can last even when everything is replaced, even the world. I liked the cyclic nature of it.

Wonderful story. Terrible Narration

I read the series and loved it. wonderful characters, very well written well developed world. I thought I would get the audio book to listen whilst I drive. I wasted my money, I can't listen to it. The narrator can't do character voices, and sounds patronising when trying to voice Boots. do yourself a favour, buy it in print.

because the story is from Ai's perspective, it can be exposition heavy and with the book. I was finding it hard to start with. listening made it really accessible to me. Such an epic story. the narrator was wonderful.
