Story
Is it possible to heal by thought alone - without drugs or surgery? The truth is that it happens more often than you might expect. In You Are the Placebo, Dr. Joe Dispenza shares numerous documented cases of those who reversed cancer, heart disease, depression, crippling arthritis, and even the tremors of Parkinson’s disease by believing in a placebo. Similarly, Dr. Joe tells of how others have gotten sick and even died the victims of a hex or voodoo curse - or after being misdiagnosed with a fatal illness.

I enjoyed listening to the audiobook and the narrator did well. There is a lot of inspiring information which leads to learn more. I've meditated for years and had a certain perspective that it's a tool with beneficial results. Dr Joe's meditations are the engine of changing one's life. I totally relate to our quality of life being a reflection of our internal world. Unfortunately most of my listening time is while I'm driving, making it impossible to look at the figures in the PDF he refers to.

Story
Hugh van Cuylenburg was a primary school teacher volunteering in northern India when he had a life-changing realisation: despite the underprivileged community the children were from, they were remarkably positive. By contrast, back in Australia Hugh knew that all too many children struggled with depression, social anxieties and mental illness. His own little sister had been ravaged by anorexia nervosa. How was it that young people he knew at home, who had food, shelter, friends and a loving family, struggled with their mental health, while these kids seemed so contented and resilient?

The narrator was great for this audiobook, it felt like I was listening to Richard Branson. There were many anecdotes to keep me connected and know that this is biographical and not just leadership theories being bandied about. I found many aspects of the Virgin Way could be implemented in businesses of all sizes and I especially relate to Richard's people focus. A recommended read or listen.

In an incredible 25-year career as a homicide detective, Ron Iddles' conviction rate was 99 percent. Yet that only partly explains why Iddles is known to cops and crims alike as 'The Great Man'. Tough, inventive and incorruptible, stoic in the face of senseless horror yet unafraid to shed tears for a victim, Ron has applied his country cunning and city savvy to over 320 homicide cases - some of them the most infamous, compelling and controversial crimes in the nation's history. To the victims of crime, Ron is both a shoulder to cry on and an avenging angel.
