The author uses a "time slip" device to create engagement between three stages of her character's life in order to face and resolve childhood trauma. Written with sensitivity and insight, it left me (a 68 year old male) choked with emotion. We'll done, Tabitha!

Didn't finish it, a first for La Plante; usually a great read, but squibbed it with this novel of shallow female angst and contrariness.
