Story
She’s a murderer. Everyone knows she killed Stuart Rees - why else would his dead body be found in her shed? So now Tabitha is in prison, awaiting trial. Coming back to the remote coastal village where she grew up was a mistake. She didn’t fit in then, and she doesn’t fit in now. That day is such a blur, she can’t remember clearly what happened. There is something she is missing, something important. She only knows one thing.

Fascinating, easily digestible warning for all

Well documented and substantiated. Appreciation and congratulations to those who've been tenacious in their attempts to bring some justice. For the reader/listener it could be difficult to believe Foster's motivations and intentions. But if you understand a bit re anti-social personalities, (narcissist, sociopath, psychopath etc), it's easier to accept there's people out there doing this all the time. It's estimated these anti-socials make up 2% of the population. So we're all likely to come across them. This is probably a 'there for the grace of god' story for most of us...but definitely a warning for all.

Story
Rachel Hollis has seen it too often: women not living into their full potential. They feel a tugging on their hearts for something more, but they’re afraid of embarrassment, of falling short of perfection, of not being enough. In Girl, Stop Apologizing, number-one New York Times best-selling author and founder of a multimillion-dollar media company, Rachel Hollis sounds a wake-up call. She knows that many women have been taught to define themselves in light of other people - whether as wife, mother, daughter, or employee....

With a great lack of awareness the writer/narrator tells us, in a very patronising manner, what we all know. 101 type stuff , no astute insights, no understanding on a new level. It’s like been taught the alphabet at age 41 by a 6 year old. The writer/narrator puts a spin on this ‘advice’ in a manner that appears she’s made the alphabet up as well as teaching us all it. But fair play, she’s marketed something you didn’t know you didn’t need til you paid for it. Gotta respect that.

Story
It is the Edinburgh Festival. People queuing for a lunchtime show witness a road-rage incident--an incident which changes the lives of everyone involved. Jackson Brodie, ex-army, ex-police, ex-private detective, is also an innocent bystander--until he becomes a suspect. With Case Histories, Kate Atkinson showed how brilliantly she could explore the crime genre and make it her own. In One Good Turn, she takes her masterful plotting one step further.

Very clever & lots of dry subtle humour

BEST BOOK. Loved it so much I'm writing a review (first time after over 100 audio books). It's the subtleties and dry humour that make this book so best give it your full attention. A clever storyline and characters that make an impression. Gloria and Tatiana the most interesting but even Martin at times. The humour's dry, astute and subtle so give it your full attention. Kate Atkinson must be a fascinating person to write characters like these. She's certainly very skilled. Great narrator too.
