Every minute of this amazing story had me enthralled. Lesley has the ability to tell an intriguing story that covers many facets. Sally Scott did a wonderful performance with all the characters and accents. Highly recommend.

Laurel made this a story a must listen. I enjoyed it immensely, but without her I may not have persisted.

The main character was portrayed as a pathetic, stupid woman. Even I, as a victim of domestic abuse, thought that it was pretty unbelievable and over dramatised, with her missing many opportunities to get help.

Where does Ellie rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Ellie is in the top 10 per cent of Audible books for me.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ellie, of course. But Bonnie was the girl you love to hate and added so much interest to the story. Can’t believe she was the one who ended up ‘happy ever after’ after treating people so badly all her life. How did she manage to continue to get her own way?

What does Anne Dover bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Anne is very easy to listen to.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Quite a few.

Any additional comments?

I can’t wait for the sequel Camillia to be available on Audible.

Pathetic and childish. Story over explained, slow, drawn out, base, repetitive and boring. Narration angry, agessive and overacted. It was one of those stories you nearly give up on many times but are hopeful it will have a good twist at the end. It didn’t.
