Interesting and thoughtfully presented, however the reading (of one book in particular) came across as aimed at school students. Additionally, some pronunciation was questionable. Not only of Spanish words but also a number of English words which were pronounced incorrectly repeatedly throughout the book, which became distracting. There were also a number of outright contradictions between one sentence and the next.

The reading doesn't quite match the text unfortunately, and I was conscious of that through the entire performance. Brene has a distinct style of publishing audio books that are more like lectures and this one needed to be read with her distinct style of speaking. This may not be an issue for other listeners, but it was for me. Lauren Fortgang had an incredibly difficult task, and though she does do well - I just couldn't enjoy this audiobook.
