What a wonderful ending! Action packed and exciting (a few late nights when I couldn’t stop listening) with some lovely tender and emotive moments. If HBO doesn’t pick this up as a series I’ll be incredibly surprised.

As always Aoife threw it out the ball park. Her narration is great. I wish there’d been a bit more Riley and less Fisher but I liked the twists in the story. I also always enjoy listening about Ireland. 3rd book of Dervla’s that I read and I’ll probably read the 4th

It started off slow, and with characters who felt real. Real women, who are flawed, make mistakes and keep going. It culminated with fireworks and moving relationships that explored the complexities of the female experience. An incredible piece. I feel fortunate to have spent a few hours listening to Jo and Bethie tell their story.

The narrator is wonderful. The third book is good but not as punchy as the second one. One frustrating piece was the writers tendency to re-explain people (Phillip “patriarch who died in 1946”) it was frustrating because this book three and we all know who is who. Felt a bit odd to have that for well established characters. Also still waiting on information on the book....

Diana comes into herself in this book far better than the first one. I enjoyed the historical references. The narrator however is the real star. Outstanding performance.

Aoife McMahon is amazing but the plot wasn't that gripping. It was really predictable, and even though there was a slight twist it wasn't really that surprising. I thought some character loops sort of didn't quite make it or weren't strong enough. I really enjoyed McTiernan's earlier book The Ruin but this one definitely wasn't great.
