I loved listening to Paul Kelly narrate this book. The 100 songs (from A-Z), read as poetry, are phenomenal, but it is wonderful to get an insight into the background, not just of the songs but also of Kelly himself. Through the songs he reveals himself piece by piece, warts and all. As an aspiring song writer I loved hearing how some of the songs came to be, the different inspirations, the creative process behind the song. "What came first, the words or the music?". After 13 odd hours (more now that I'm relistening to it, I feel like Paul Kelly is a mate and I have certainly grown in admiration for his ability to tell wonderful wonderful stories through songs. If you have even a slight interest in Paul Kelly or music in general, get this audio book and let Paul become your buddy too.

I have to admit to being a bit scepter all when I listened to the first couple of chapters, but I went with it. I have to say, I really do believe that this book will have a profound impact on my life. The idea of setting aside time early to do things that will help you become the person you would love to be, makes sense. I have done 2 consecutive mornings and loved them both. I also really admire and respect how Hal breaks down all the negative thought patterns and limiting beliefs that would potentially stop you from meditating, visualizing or saying affirmations. There were times I felt like he was reading my mind, but by the end I was more willing to accept that even though I might not have been able to do something in my life, I can now. I'll be listening again. And again. Thanks Hal!
