As always, the characters come to life in a Pamela Fagan Hutchins book.. I found the main protagonists, Patrick Flint and his wife Suzanne very human, with great values a social behaviours. I thought the way Patrick made decisions a bit domineering, although many men behaved that way in 1976, many did not. I also found Suzanne's jealousy and quick rage based assaults very immature and out of character for responsible, example setting parent.

The story is engaging and fast moving, making it hard to put down. Please write more Patrick Flint, but grow the characters up a bit.

Loved the story of a man's ingenuity. The problem solving, the description of how things work, was great. In addition, the voice actor beautifully conveyed the matter of factness and wry, self-deprecating humour of the main character. Great listen.

good flowing story, characters could be a little more developed. Ended a bit abruptly, but very gripping second half.

A good story looking at the experience of sentient beings. Are they human? Should they be equal?
