Have you ever thought you’d like to be a fly on the wall and listen to real life couples in counselling? No, probably not! I didn’t either until I downloaded this series. Made me smile and cry. Fascinating, real, addicting and relevant. Definitely worth a listen, you’ll know by the first episode if it’s your thing. Enjoy!

I'm surprised how much I liked the series. It's a bit of background about 6 current world leaders who have been classified as 'Iron Men' by the author. Originally, I hadn't read the description and I thought it was going to be about extreme athletes but it wasn't. I love podcasts and had been hearing about these men over the course of the pandemic, so this was really interesting and helpful to get some background on what made them so powerful and start to explain their unexpected rises to power!

If you like: Marian Keyes, Beth O'Leary, Sarra Manning If you're in the mood for: chick lit, light romance, reality tv I have to admit I haven't watched every season of the Bachelor, but I have definitely been sucked into watching every episode in the season's that I do. A 'Bachelor in Paradise' season ended just last week and a new Bachelor started right away. This time the Bachelor is a fan favourite from last year's Survivor, so I'm definitely hooked. You still with me? Back to the book, right, so last week when I was in the mood for some light reading I thought this one looked interesting, especially since I'm in middle of a Bachelor frenzy at the moment. This book has 3 heroine's who are all interconnected to the filming of the current season of 'The One'. We slowly get to know them all and the potential of their various love interests. Easy reading, light romance, perfect for when you're in the mood for some Chick lit!

I listened to 2 other books that came out over the last year about the Thai rescue and was glued to the news while it was happening. Loved Harry & Craig’s version! These two are hilarious especially Dr. Harris. Definitely a must listen!

I thought this lecture series was great. I have loved over 90% of the great courses that I’ve read and this was no exception. Prof Novella used great examples and kept me interested. I learned a few things too. Highly recommend if it sounds like something you’d enjoy.

What did you like most about Life or Death?

I loved listening to this one (even with the male narrator sometimes creating an 'interesting' southern woman's voice). The story is an 'unfolding' one which can be slightly confusing at times but seems to clear up a few minutes later. The main character is the likeable Audie who escapes from prison the day before he's meant to be released from a 10 year armed robbery jail sentence. I loved how the story started to make more sense as I went along. Gripping & great, 5 stars!

Any additional comments?

Looking back at my Goodreads status reviews I can see that for the first half I was addicted to listening to this book. The book slowed down in the middle, then picked up again near the end.

I would say that it's a bit predictable based on the title but it was fairly suspenseful and engaging through most of it. I'll classify this a beach read. 4 stars!

Can’t speak highly enough about this book. This was the first book by Jon Ronson that I listened to and still definitely my favourite. It’s non-fiction, but reads sort of as though it’s fiction. Amazing. 5 stars!

This is my 2nd favourite book of Jon’s. The extremists that let him into their lives are off in another world sometimes and it’s amazing to hear how he wiggles his way into their lives over the course of sometimes year. Highly recommend.

This is the newest of Jon Ronson’s books and up there with my favourites. I noticed it up for a Goodreads Choice award this year so I voted for it. When oh when Jon will you release another book?
