Earth is 4.5 billion years old. In just a fraction of that time, one species among countless others has conquered it. Us. We are the most advanced and most destructive animals ever to have lived. What makes us brilliant? What makes us deadly? What makes us sapiens? In this bold and provocative audiobook, Yuval Noah Harari explores who we are, how we got here, and where we're going.

A brilliant non-biased analysis of the human kind - most things are obvious once you hear them but after listening to this book the world seems a little simpler (and definitely dumber). Fantastic narrator too, well done!

I did enjoy the performance very much, though at times I felt some bits didn't quite make sense - would like to read the book now. One-time listen though, unlikely to listen to it again.

To the children, the town was their whole world. To the adults, knowing better, Derry, Maine, was just their hometown: familiar, well ordered for the most part. A good place to live. It was the children who saw - and felt - what made Derry so horribly different. In the storm drains, in the sewers, IT lurked, taking on the shape of every nightmare, each one's deepest dread. Sometimes IT reached up, seizing, tearing, killing....

Enjoyed the book, the narrator does a good job and portrays the characters really well; the story itself had some overly stretched bits and quite weird moments (sex life of 11-year olds? ok) but was overall very enjoyable and entertaining. Keen to watch the movie now and see which parts of the book made it into a film.

This is the only money guide you'll ever need. That's a bold claim, given there are already thousands of finance books on the shelves. So what makes this one different? You'll get a step-by-step formula: open this account, then do this; call this person, and say this; invest money here and not there. All with a glass of wine in your hand.

I’m only at chapter 17 so far but it’s been a real struggle to listen to because of the narrator! Where do I start? He reads it all wrong, emphasis on all the wrong words, shocking women characters (all sounding either comical or boring or retarded), really boring accents, super boring male characters - and don’t even mention the descriptive bits. The worst - ok, second worst after the guy reading Casefile podcast...
The story seems to be very engaging but I’m tempted to stop listening and buy a book - or I’ll completely spoil the story for myself because of this terrible performance. Minus 5 starts, doesn’t even deserve 1 star! Grover Gardner, you’re really bad at that!

This one is really hard for me to review! If I review a book itself and performance by Eddie - they are the most amazing ones, couldn’t stop listening, just fantastic! A brilliant, magical piece for die-hard Harry Potter fans!
But can I justify buying it for $15 since it’s only 2hrs? No. Will be returning for this reason - even though I may re-purchase later and re-listen.
Would be great if it could be bundled with other “Hogwarts library books” to make it a full experience - and make it worth the $$.
