Story
After his town is put to the sword and the children are taken to replace the fallen, an old man is out for revenge. He’s ready to fail at the most difficult challenge in the world: cultivation. Too corrupted to even take the first steps, the sly old elder simply agreed with those who told him that it was impossible. Then, he quietly ignored them, rubbed his hands together, and started anyway. He had always failed in what he did. The only thing that had never failed him was his sharp mind and philosophy. He would cultivate...no matter what it cost him.

Story
Keras Selyrian is already well on the way to cutting his name into the annals of legend. He’s fought false divinities, thieving sorcerers, and corrupt demigods - and left them defeated in his wake. But he’s a long way from home, and Kaldwyn offers a different brand of danger than he’s used to. He’s already got a sword of unfathomable power, but it’s damaged and leaking world-annihilating mana, so he’s in the market for a new one. Possibly six. The more the better, really.

Whos the lead?

only problem is, Keras and Coran are too similar in thought patterns. Even Dawn displays some of the same banter as from the Coran group. An example is the pun humour, which is funny and intellectual, right up until the characters point out the fact.

Huge magical detail

Very unique style, you certainly feel like you are learning the magic as you progress through the book. The magical system in this book is so complex, and this book introduces compounding atunements and abilities very well.

It is certainly long and slow, but what a well written book overall. Such a great development for the series and the Cosmere in general.
