I listened to this book after hearing John McWhorter mentioning his interest in Shelby Steele. As someone who does not live in America nor has much knowledge of their history other than media portrayal I found Mr Steele's thoughts insightful and provocative. A very different narrative than what is continually offered from mainstream media.

Having been quite a fan of Dostoyevsky's work I was very interested in learning more about Russian history. Michael Sixsmith has done a stellar job here in exploring the last 1000 years of this nation. What an incredible journey!

A must read.

I have read and listened to around 40 books this year and this has been the best one. A refreshing, confronting and necessary journey into discussions that are being so passionately avoided. Well done to the author on a very well researched and presented book.

An incredible account of an era of history that is too little understood. The line between good and evil cuts through the centre of every heart. We are each oppressor and oppressed.

Very, Very Cool

Very good content from a truly inspiring man. Had to listen to it on at least x1.75 speed as the reader is slooooow and unengaging in his reading style. Otherwise very good.

I've read organisational culture texts far and wide and this is one of the best ones out there. Thoroughly recommend it for anyone wanting to grow their organisations or team culture in any capacity. Will be listening to several times again to immerse myself in the concepts in this book.

Remarkable insight into the inner machinations of the devilish mind. A mind that operates in us all to a degree.

As an Australian for no knowledge or passion around gridiron, the first half of the book did get annoying with so many (to me) irrelevant American football examples. Probably very good for gridiron fans though. Second half of the book was very good.
