I am so glad Urzila Carlson read her book herself as it just would not have been the same if read by anyone else. The comedic brilliance with which she delivers her comedy bits on stage is reiterated in her reading of her book. She says she did not enjoy the process of putting this book together and that she will never do it again - but I hope she changes her mind because her story is not yet over and her heartfelt life story is something I am glad she shared. Her story is the story of many ex- South Africans that are now spread out across the world and hearing it warms our hearts and reminds us that even in the dark times there can be laughter and something to smile about. Negatives: If you are offended by profanity and blasphemy, this is not the book for you. I feel that without it, it would have been just as good. Time to give Dry Bar Comedy a go Urzila - now there’s a challenge!

Downloaded it because it was free, but I could not get past the first chapter. The story did not engage me as this is not typically the genre of story that appeals to me.

A modern story set during the COVID-19 lockdown. An engaging story that you will end up listening to in one sitting as the story is so gripping and brilliantly narrated. The only thing I did not like was the blasphemy.

If you need cheering up or just enjoy being entertained with good laughs then this Audible compilation of Australian comedy is for you. Works well without having to visually see the comedians. Maybe they can make more like this. Keep the Lols coming!
