This book came at a very needed time for me. I was burned out, feeling incredibly anxious and rather depressed despite my life actually improving by all accounts. Feelings of shame and inadequacy had become more common than any other emotion. I’d read many other books that also helped but this book provided the missing process of actually taking the time to care for myself and accept, love and support myself as I would do and have done for others I love. I feel I’m on a new path now, one that will lead to greater happiness and fulfillment without feelings of superiority or grandeur, just things as they are but with so much more acceptance and appreciation.
Thanks so much for writing this book, it has helped me immeasurably ❤️

Without a doubt, this book is in my top 5 best books. I’ve read a lot of books on self help and pop psychology and neuroscience, this book tops them all in terms of relevance and applicability. The research findings in this book should be taught at every level of schooling and given to every new parent. Thanks a million Brené, you’ve saved my life!

So needed today!

This is one of the most enlightening books I've ever read on parenting. It has completely changed the way I think about my children and every relationship, from my partner to my parents and work colleagues. I highly recommend this to anyone who is struggling or suffering through their parenting experience.

I had to listen to this again immediately after finishing it. I've shared it with my kids, friends and work colleges. I can't thank Brene enough for her research and courage to speak about the very thing we all need to put words to. I'm now reading her book, "Daring Greatly" and it brings my to tears of relief every time I open it.
