Seventeen-year-old Hannah wants to spend her senior year of high school going to football games and Mardi Gras parties. She wants to drive along the oak-lined streets of Louisiana's Garden District and lie on the hot sand of Florida's beaches. She wants to spend every night making memories with her tight-knit group of friends. The last thing she wants is to fall in love with a girl - especially when that girl is her best friend, Baker. Hannah knows she should like Wally, the kind, earnest boy who asks her to prom.

I’ve now listened to this book multiple times and each time I marvel at Kelly Quindlen’s ability to effectively capture youth and society in a way that tugs at your heart. This story is both heartbreaking and beautiful. I rejoiced and I cried throughout it. The story touched me deeply and I strongly believe this book should be added to your list of ‘must haves’.

The only thing that frightens shapeshifter Selene Rhodes more than the full moon is the idea of falling in love. Selene Rhodes has lived her whole life with a terrible secret: not only can she take the form of any animal at will, but once a month the full moon transforms her into a fierce wolf-creature without a human conscience. Managing her condition means living by a strict routine, and more importantly, abstaining from intimate relationships with human beings.

I’m a huge fan of Meghan O’Brien’s work and ‘Wild’ certainly did not disappoint. Prepare to be taken on an exotic journey of fantasy and crime expertly interwoven into modern society. You’ll intimately experience the characters’ highs and lows and connect wonderfully to the masterfully crafted story line. Plus Alexandria Wilde is one of my favourite narrators and you’ll soon hear for yourself why that is.

I highly recommend!

When Jessica Farris signs up for a psychology study conducted by the mysterious Dr Shields, she thinks all she’ll have to do is answer a few questions, collect her money and leave. But as the questions grow more and more intense and invasive, and the sessions become outings where Jess is told what to wear and how to act, she begins to feel as though Dr Shields may know what she’s thinking...and what she’s hiding. As Jess’ paranoia grows, it becomes clear that she can no longer trust what is real in her life and what is one of Dr Shields’ manipulative experiments.

I can safely say ‘An Anonymous Girl’ is one of THE BEST BOOKS I have read for a long time! This unique and very well thought out narrative takes you on a thrilling journey unlike any I have read before. The story has been researched meticulously and, more times than I care to admit, I found myself thinking I’d figured out all of the answers only to discover I had been completely wrong. I strongly recommend you add this masterpiece to your audio book collection. The narration is superb! A big ‘well done’ from me.

I have now read this book on multiple occasions - it’s safe to say it’s easily my favourite Meghan O’Brien book and high up on my list of All Time Favourites.

The story majestically sets the scenes for our two main characters and artfully intertwines their lives, both of whom are recovering from extremely traumatic histories.

My only criticism would be the voice actress’s performance, which was dismal. I felt my eyes twitch on numerous occasions due to the extremely poor skill and devastating vocal interpretation of each and every time a character spoke.

Fortunately, Meghan O’Brien’s story telling is so good you can nearly, kind of, almost shove aside the terrible performance.

Worth a listen. Most definitely worth a read.
