OMG that was the first phrase utter when I got to the end of this extraordinary tale. I couldn't believe it wasn't real. The voice acting was equally superb. I have been enjoying audible story podcasts and their snappy chapter formats but this one has cemented their place for me. Clare has excelled herself with a captivating mystery that has you engaged from the first episode.

This was a surprisingly enjoyable find. Engaging story and characters that felt real. I love a bit of apocalyptic fun and was not disappointed with this believable story.

I am an avid fan of Sci-fi but it is a varying genre with greats and not so great. This series I am pleased to say is awesome and such a fun listen. It had quirky humour and believable characters. Really enjoyed and the dramatization was fun.

I am torn with this book. As a work of fiction I enjoyed listening to the story, it held my interest. The lofty concepts of a global solution to the world ailments I liked and enjoyed thinking about how they could work and it's additional message, I think, that with privelege also comes responsibility. However, it just rankles the easy travel here meet this "networked" connection there. ... oh so you want to drop out of Uni ...Ok "well I will fund your travel to find your true purpose, that can be your education". oh you are marrying and working in NY well I will buy your apartment for you. Sure... that's what money allows you to do but it just felt off and showy. There was a lot of "oh yeah but we were working 80 hour weeks and working for humanitarian organisations". I dont know it just annoyed me. If you try to look past that aspect the book itself has a lovely cadenence, is well written and was an easy listen. I guess there a lots of people who live this life, just not something I relate to or want to relate to. It was trying to be meaningful and it did have some nuggets but fell short for me.

As I listened to this book I couldn't keep the smile off my face with the occasional spontaneous giggle. The antics of 5 70yr old women seems like a boring topic but it most certainly was not.

Great narration and believable character driven story.

JW is an amazingly poetic writer that also resonates with a down to earth and totally relatable personal story. Lots of laugh alongside the heartaches. Loved every word.

Compelling read looking at generational thinking but also isolation of thinking differently. I loved the historical comparison reminding the reader that contexts change but does the way we humans act change that much? We all instictively want to belong and feel safe and sadly this drives our behaviours more than we recognise. However if we can instead find courage to stand out we can drive the change that is needed.
