It’s an interesting story. This book sounds so much better because the author is reading it. It’s much better with an English accent. It’s easy to see why America’s prisons and jails are so crowded.

The story is very good and the writing is surprisingly good. I don’t know if Atwood used a Ghost Writer. The narrator sounds familiar, and his Jamaican accent and female impersonations are unintentionally funny. The narrator did a good job, but I think it would have been better if Attwood narrated the book. It doesn’t sound right to have an American voice reading the book.

Meet Charlie, he repeatedly tells us that he’s the toughest, most highly intelligent, super-competent person around. He’s the best at everything. The story is interesting, but the audio and narration are terrible. The editing is awful, there is so much repetition that it will drive you nuts. There’s a lot of Bible thumping, but what annoyed me were all of the mistakes, Hall misusing words, and the contradictions. The story is pure fiction and there’s no way that this braggart went to university. Don’t waste your money on this load of bollocks.

The sound is poor, the editing is poor, the detail is mind-numbing , and the story is totally unbelievable. Meet Charlie...he’s the greatest, toughest, and most competent man in the US armed forces, and he’s very special. Hall goes into the most minute details of conversations he had with everyone almost 60 years ago. I can’t remember what I said yesterday. But, as I was constantly reminded, Charlie/Charles is the bestest man ever. I got this book to see if it was as terrible as people have reported...It’s so much worse. The detail really ground me down. Don’t waste your time or credits as this story isn’t worth it. It’s like that book which your grandfather has been working on for as long as you can remember. Life is too short.
